Church Brings Bethlehem Closer to Home
Auburn, Wash. (Nov. 30) - Bethlehem is in your backyard this holiday season. The Auburn Academy Church, on the campus of Auburn Adventist Academy, brings to life downtown Bethlehem as it would have likely appeared 2000 years ago. The reproduction of the story of the birth of Jesus includes colorful sets, costumed townsfolk, the manger scene, live animals, and holiday music.
The community is invited to enjoy a guided tour of Bethlehem with itinerary stops at the wise men camp, the shepherd encampment, the village scribe, the city gate, the census taker, the marketplace, the inn and the stable with the nativity scene.
“Journey to Bethlehem” runs nightly Dec. 8-10, with free tours available every 15 minutes between 6 and 9 p.m. Dress warmly—this is an outdoor event.
Auburn Academy Church is located at 5010 Auburn Way South in Auburn. For more information, call (253) 833-5853 or visit http://auburnacademychurch.org.
